In , Zoom announced the introduction of a new and exciting meeting format that promised to change the way Zoom looks and works. When this feature was formally rolled out the following year, it exceeded all expectations, and Immersive View quickly became one of the most popular ways to conduct meetings.

Users utilizing Immersive View can arrange all meeting participants and panelists in one Immersive View virtual office background. This single-scene setting makes it easier to mimic the feeling of a boardroom, classroom, or any other in-person group meeting.

Immersive View is one of the unique features offered by Zoom. While many other video conferencing tools exist, none offer the exact recreation of group collaboration that you can achieve with Immersive View. This allows other users to see all participants in front of Immersive View Zoom backgrounds. The result can be fun and goofy or polished and professional. If you conduct business meetings via Zoom, you should aim for a professional effect.

For commercial users, many Zoom immersive view backgrounds allow you to create the appearance of a business setting. You can even add customized details like your company logo to maintain consistent branding in a group meeting environment. When Immersive View is enabled, those on Zoom desktop and mobile apps that do not support Immersive View will continue to see other meeting participants in either Gallery View or Speaker View, just with a simple black background.

Others in the meeting will still view these unsupported participants in the Immersive View scene with their original backgrounds. Our current scenes can accommodate up to 25 participants in a scene, with various layouts for smaller groups. A number on each scene tile indicates how many people it can accommodate. We recommend deploying a scene that aligns with the meeting size. Additional participants are displayed in a thumbnail strip on the top of the scene.

You still have your available meeting capacity and can host as many participants as you normally would.

The participants appear in black color on a black background if the proprietary Zoom desktop client, mobile app, or Zoom Rooms are not supporting Immersive View. If you participate in the Immersive View, you will be able to see these attendees in their original setting, whether they have a virtual background or not.

Participants that are placed on the scene that do not meet the Virtual Background system requirements are displayed with a circular frame around them while their video profile images are displayed as a ring around them.

The Immersive View is terminated when screen sharing is performed and replaced by the shared screen. If you stop sharing, you will find that the Immersive View returns to the same positions as before. As of right now, only local recordings of Immersive Views are supported. If you choose Immersive View, you will only be able to see the immersive scene at the time of viewing, not the thumbnails of other videos.

Recordings on the cloud will either be displayed as a Gallery layout or a Speaker layout, depending on the recording settings on the cloud. Note: Immersive View can also be used by mobile apps, but the user will need to start it on their desktop client in order for it to work. Note: All other types of accounts are disabled by default. The setting is enabled by default for Free accounts and individual Pro accounts. There is also the option of uploading a custom scene if the standard set of scenes does not meet your needs.

A custom scene does not have predefined spaces, so participants will need to be manually placed by the host, since there are no predefined spaces. If you are focusing all your attention on one person on your computer, meetings can become boring. What if there could be a realistic background, adding to the overall feel of a virtual meet? Zoom immersive view does just that. A simple step-up from the usual virtual Zoom meetings, the immersive view option in this amazing video calling application allows all participants to virtually assemble in a location like a classroom, coffee shop, conference room, etc.

It also gives the host freedom to resize participants and place them in the scene, provided they have the Zoom version 5. Zoom finally launched its immersive feature at the end of April The feature was announced at Zoomtopia, last year and has now been rolled out for Mac and iOS desktop clients. The new feature allows attendees to virtually assemble in a boardroom, classroom, art gallery, or other places.

It can accommodate up to 25 participants in the virtual space, replacing the static flat background. It has built upon the existing features of the platform and offered an upgraded method of organizing meetings online from the looks of it.

The setting can accommodate 25 people, but if there are more people in the meeting, the rest will be shown as a strip on the top of the screen. Zoom has given a few scenes to help kickstart the use of this feature.

Alternatively, one can upload the scene they want to use during the meeting. You can use almost any background to create an immersive experience. For optimal results, Zoom recommends that aspect ratio, virtual background, and resolution recommendations be matched. To use the immersive feature, users must also have the latest version of Zoom. There are no minimum requirements for the number of people on this feature.

Therefore, you can arrange a ceremony or simply conduct an interview, and the type or size of the meeting shall not be a problem. Zoom provides several backgrounds for immersive meetings. But you can also upload scenes you like and use them during meetings. Just click on Immersive , you can use the plus icon to upload your custom scene. As an alternative, you can also click on Use my Video as the Immersive Video and add participants to your background.

Only the host can change the settings or background of the immersive view. This ensures that there are no disruptions or mishappenings during the meeting. The best feature yet is that you can change the seating and placement of participants in the meeting.
